Even if you don't like videogames normally or play them often. I've not finished the 2nd one yet, but if it is nearly as good as it has been so far, it'll be among one of the finest videogames of our time. I believe it to be the beginning of a 2nd renaissance in videogaming, and is just excellent. I've not met a single person who's played the game and hasn't loved it. 

Its not going to take forever - the first portal I beat in 3-4 hours, and is the type of thing you can easily play for 5 minutes at a time if you want.

Also I'm currently pretty heavily into the more recent Fighting games;

Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Mortal Kombat 9.

I like MVC3 more than MK9, but they're both pretty fun. I've also begun to play Final Fantasy 7 (finally) and while its somewhat difficult to get used to (old controls) I feel as though things are about to pick up.T

Seconding every single thing about portal 2.

I'm only halfway through it and it is already, by a wide margin, the best game I've ever played.

BTW Bryce I'm not sure how far you've gotten, but after a few hours the game suddenly and unexpectedly goes from a 9/10 to a 15/10.

I don't expect anything less from Valve. They have put out ridiculously good games again and again. I cannot wait for Episode 3, and Dota 2 will likely be equally awesome.  I'm 45 minutes into portal 2. I kind of want to give the finger to working out today and just play the everliving shit out of it but I cant :(

For those of you who have not played the first two games, I would highly recommend them, especially if you liked KOTOR or KOTOR 2. 

Also, for those who don't know already, they're REMAKING Halo (the first one) with completely remade art assets. Apparently the storyline mode of the game is pretty much unchanged.  This would excite the living shit out of me, as I feel that the later halo incarnations are not as good as the first one, multiplayer gameplay wise, but for some STUPID FUCKING REASON they're not giving it an online multiplayer function; opting instead to release all the halo 1 maps as DLC for Halo:Reach.

Halo 4 was also teased, but lets face it; now that Bungie's not doing it, it'll probably feel a lot like Treyarch's Call of Duty games when compared to old-school team Ubisoft Call of Duty games.  (Decent, but not nearly as good)

Speaking of which, Call of duty Modern Warfare 3 was also announced.

But after gutting the team that made the first two Modern Warfares, I don't really have high hopes for it.

I've never much played the game, but I really really want to now. Amazing graphics, absolutely stunning.

Also the new Wii console came out ... with hardware equal to 360, at last (6 years late). As I was never much of a Wii player, this doesn't really interest me that much.
