Science Club is my stupid band. We've been playing for two years now and are started to get our shit together with recording and playing shows.

Wanna hear what we sound like? I've got some unmastered tracks to share (masters are going to be pressed into CD's and thrown up onto iTunes).

http://nickmongo.com/scienceclub/Failure%20Ballads%20%28Unmastered%29/04%20Scares.mp3 - Scares (I sing this one! It's about getting knocked up!)

http://nickmongo.com/scienceclub/Failure%20Ballads%20%28Unmastered%29/05%20Go,%20Boldly.mp3 - Go, Boldly (IT'S ABOUT STAR TREK)

http://nickmongo.com/scienceclub/Failure%20Ballads%20%28Unmastered%29/02%20Funky%20C.mp3 - Funky C (We wrote this in 20 minutes. It shows!)

Sounds pretty good man.  I didn't know you could sing!  You guys kind of remind of They Might Be Giants.  Did you guys do your own recording or pay for studio time?

I don't really go for rock and/or roll in general, but your sound is pretty tight. Good job!!!!

Very cool! I like the Star Trek one (shocking, right?). I dunno if its just my crummy work speakers or what, or if these have been mixed at all, but I found the drums a little overpowering. It made it kind of hard to hear the guitar riffs and a little difficult to understand the vocals. If the guitar and vocals were brought up a little it might sound more balanced. But I dig the music!

Thanks for the kind words. And I totally can't sing.

Fun fact: During the middle of "Go, Boldly" I'm screaming "WOOOOOOOOORRRFF!!" Then "Woooorf. Son of Mooooog."

We got the masters last night. Been listening to them a lot. It's weird hearing your own band mixed by someone else be they'll inevitable make choices you don't agree with, but it nice having high quality recorded music for once. No idea when we'll get this up on iTunes (I still have to draw the album cover).

Also, we threw up the mastered version of our bonus track for free on our blog. It's a cover of a Mountain Goats song. http://www.mediafire.com/?qla6xs2yax6yj5x
