Oh wait, I mean Congress! Whoops!
House GOP leader says bullet fired into office after health care vote.Cantor also said that he had received threatening messages but that he would not publicly release the messages out of concern that doing so would only incite further violence.
He also accused Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland -- a member of the Democratic House leadership -- of "fanning the flames" of violence by using threats that have been made against Democratic members "as political weapons."
"Enough is enough," Cantor said. "It has to stop."
Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse hit back against Cantor's claims.
"We disagree with the charge made by Rep. Cantor today that Democrats are using acts of violence for political gain," he said. "Let's be clear: Calling on Republican leaders who have contributed in part to this anger by wildly mischaracterizing the substance and motives of health reform to condemn these acts is entirely appropriate."
Gee, who would have guessed that the Republican tactic of grossly misrepresenting the health care reform bill and basically making it out to be a contract with THE DEVIL would have backfired in such a horrendous manner when it inevitably got passed into law? Crazy, right? So what would be the best tactic for dealing with this, you think? Maybe reaching out to your constituents, admitting you're big fat dumb fucking liar who was using scare tactics to rile them up, apologizing profusely for the breach of trust perpetrated against them, and begging for their forgiveness? Okay well maybe that's a bit much to expect. But surely maybe just trying to calm your crazy ass retard constituents down out of their murder frenzy, right? Like, that's probably what Republicans are doing, right?
Senate passes health care "fixes" bill.Republicans used every parliamentary tool available to try to undermine both the overall health care bill and the fixes measure. They forced the Senate to begin deliberations on a series of proposed amendments starting Wednesday night. The Senate did not adjourn until 2:45 a.m. Thursday.
The Senate reconvened at 9:45 a.m. to consider additional GOP proposals which, among other things, were designed to force Democrats to cast unpopular votes in the run-up to November's midterm elections.
Oh, uh, I guess not. I guess they decided a better tactic would be to continue to fight this tooth and nail and undermine their party by making themselves look a bunch of big gay babies. Good tactic guys. Seriously.
But no for real, read that first article. I did, and I think I need to go throw up.
