"New Robotic Hand 'Can Feel'"Description: A young man relying on the use of an electronic hook ever since his right hand was amputated due to cancer treatment, has had a new kind of artificial hand attached to his arm. Scientists in Italy and Sweden have pioneered the first artificial hand with feeling called the ‘Smart Hand’. Surgeons have managed to link up the robotic hand to a human arm to allow for the sensation of touch and feel. The hand which uses motors and sensors is directly linked to the brain and is considered as an advance in existing prosthetic limbs and is the first to replace a human limb in the world of bioengineering.
