So I read the Economist and the New York Times.  I'm looking for one more daily or weekly to round out my reportoire.  Any recommendations?  I've tried Newsweek but as much as I love Fareed Zarakia's column, the rest of the paper doesn't dig deep enough into issues for me.

I know the New Yorker takes a lot of flak for being an elitist, New Yorkophilic publication (which it is, don't get me wrong) but they've had some pretty good writers grace the pages. Malcolm Gladwell is a good example. Also some of their profiles are fascinating and when they do some investigative work that's usually very in depth. As a plus, I always enjoy when they give a bad review of an opera for some reason.

this past weekend jenn lewis from lancaster told me about amelie gillette, a writer whose articles are posted on the a.v. club website. she writes all about ridiculous things i tend to love making fun of, like tyra banks and mcodonald's and twilight and mariah carey. she is pretty smart and what she writes is mostly dead-on ! some of them are better than others, but the anti-tyra article was pretty hilarious and worth checking out

can't stop reading this. hilarious.
