Heard it was close to 3 hours long. Is this true? Not that I care in any sort of negative way, I am just thinking I might enjoy seeing three hours of Hitler getting shot in the face.

Just saw it with my German friends, and it wasn't horrifyingly awkward; they really enjoyed it, but said Brad Pitt's accent was very difficult to understand.

I thought it was great. And the bit with the three fingers at the bar was a total mindfuck because I learned about that in German 1 but totally forgot about it. I really liked the fact that the majority of the movie wasn't in English. And the fact that the characters were multilingual really created some tense and hilarious scenes.

I was one of only maybe ten or so people in the entire theater who laughed (nervously) when Landa started speaking Italian to Aldo. I love the jokes that exist merely by the use of the language.

And Christoph Waltz deserves a fucking Best Actor win.

Definitely worth the 6.00 I paid to see it (keeping your student id really pays off!) I was laughing through half the movie, though not something I'd pay to see again however.

I saw it. I thought it was pretty good. It's definitely funnier than I thought it was going to be. It's got better pacing than Deathproof. It also lacks the kind of sing-song dialogue that Tarantino is famous for and I think the picture is stronger for that. I attribute that quality to the multilingual nature of the movie. I also thought we'd see more of the exploits of the basterds, but that absence doesn't detract from the movie as a whole.
