So Bing.com is Microsoft's brand new search engine. I gave it shot earleir today, at the office on a PC. Everything went pretty well, the search was fast. I closed the window after I was done trying it out, and then Internet Explorer freaked out on me.
The Bing.com search engine continously popped up, far too quickly for me close in time. I tried everything to close out, and eventually the only option was to restart the computer. I'm hoping that it was IE problem and not the search engines (for Microsofts sake).

I don't want to sound like the elitist mac user I am, but whenever I hear microsoft is whipping out a google/apple/whatever killer I kind of roll my eyes and go back to using the thing that works.

I know my mom hates Bing for some unknown reason and that it has been turning up some pretty funny search results for people. Besides that, I haven't really used the bugger so can't speak much about it.

Yeah really. I mean I guess I could use some other search engine, but why bother when Google works oh so fine?

Just because I don't think Bing is going to be it, doesn't mean I think there will never be a better search engine. Google is just one in a long line of search engines.

I agree with that. From what I understand, Bing seems to me to be the latest microsoft attempt to catch up with other products instead of turning out something original.

They've done the same thing with Internet Explorer and trying to compete with Mozilla. They made the interface practically the same as Firefox, except it doesn't default to new tabs, it still wants to open five million windows on your desktop, and it doesn't bring anything new or exciting to the table. Oh except that in the little search bar its Bing. So yeah.

I mean at least the Google browser has some neat features that Firefox doesn't.
