Just got the new Phoenix album and it is pretty much what you would expect in a Phoenix album. Worth getting just for this song:

Also, in response to the Nas shout-out earlier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84uWGVAcKR4

Vampire Weekend are apparently coming out with a new album sometime soon. I'm excited for that.

Anyways, I've gotten back into Weezer's Blue Album. It's one of the albums that, for me, comes extremely close to being perfect. I still tend to skip over Surf Wax America, but everything else is solid.

Also, there's this band that was brought to my attention by the director of my old music school. He was at a festival in Sweden, heard them play, went out for drinks with them, listened to their album, and bought them plane tickets to come play in America. They're playing some shows in NYC, and will be in Philly at the Black Lodge and the North Star Bar. It's a Swedish brother-and-sister pop band called Two White Horses who apparently walk onto the stage with wooden horse heads on sticks. That aside, they're really, really good. They have, at different points in time during the album, reminded me of Animal Collective, Beirut and The Shins. It's really, solid, heartfelt music. I'd really suggest you guys at least check out their MySpace, particularly the songs "Tous Les Garcons et les Filles" (yeah, they're Swedish, which means they speak lots of languages fluently and make really good music, all the while living in fashionable Ikea-furnished homes), "Good Times Are Gone Forever," and "Super Trouper." Anyways, here's their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/2whitehorses

That is exciting about Vampire Weekend.

Also, Two White Horses is pretty neat, Mits. Souper Trouper is totally an Abba cover, btw. An excellent Abba cover of an excellent Abba song.  Smiley

Holy crap I love that song, Ethan. It rocks. I love 104.5 for playing awesome music.

Okay now for two seconds I want everyone here to forget about Poker Face and Just Dance and trust me enough to watch the video this link goes to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvhwIpspk-w

This song is about a jillion times better than the crap those other two, not to mention Lady Gaga is probably the coolest lady ever. Also its a pretty sick video.

Oh yes...Lady Gaga. I had written her off, when I had to hear Poker Face and Just Dance about 50 times a day at school. This song is good though.

Also yes, Yeah Yeah Yeah's Zero is phenomenal.

Karen O is no doubt fantastic, but I feel like she needs a more substantial band behind her.

Also, fuck Lady Gaga.

i like new mates of state. their sound is more fleshed-out these days. i always thought they were fun and cute, but since seeing them live i've begun to take them more seriously. their music has life to it, it's not pretentious or formulaic, and i don't dismiss that ! starting to think it's the thing i should look for first.

I really like De La Soul now.  You've probably heard this song (Me, Myself and I):

If you are referring to Bitte Orca I would totally put it on the FTP for you, but I'm retarded and don't have the mental capacity to figure out how.

Been there, done that. Still fucked it up. (running Linux. things is different here in my world.) I would much rather not run the risk of ruining the good thing you guys have going by trying again and failing miserably. Thanks though.
