I just downloaded this free program that
Thunderf00t was demonstrating in his
latest video. It's a 3D simulator that lets you navigate the Milky Way using what years of astronomy and space exploration have taught us. You can hop from a point hovering above the night lights of the United States to some Podunk rock orbiting Neptune, then zip to a view that encompasses the entire galaxy, all in a couple of seconds. It's probably good for a lot of other things too, but I've only been playing with it for a little while. It's fun if you are a fucking escapist space nerd like me and have always wanted to be able to do this for real.
