I also ordered that arcade stick you recommended Bryce. Should be here by the end of the week along with Street Fighter IV shortly after.

awesome. HD Remix is good, as its very similar to 4 (though 4 of course, has new stuff)

This past weekend i played with some of the best fighting game players in the maryland area ... they were quite good, and were impressed with my ability to generally keep up using a ps3 gamepad. I think though, that I'm going to get an arcade stick, as the ps3 controller allows for too many mistakes, and one can be a fair amount more exact with the stick, once you get used to it. Additionally, for shoto characters, its easy as fuck to do wakeup shoryukens by simply jiggling the joystick back-down to forward-down and hitting the punch, instead of having to time it right like charge characters require -- this can't be easily done on pad though, so stick players are at an advantage.

I may just buy Kenji's old one off him once he gets his 150$ tournament quality arcade stick - he's planning on going pro evidently.

GODDAMMIT SAGAT YOU ARE SOME KIND OF UNHOLY BEAST CREATED TO NEVER EVER STOP USING RANGE MOVES

I've been using my PS3 with the Control stick instead of the d-pad. I always played SFII with the d-pad of my SNES controller but the stick seems to work better for the most part.

just wait till you play him in SF4 - he's got bullshit priorities, and can throw fireballs faster than anyone. Additionally his super and ultras can be combo'd into with like a basic kick, and so long as you land that first move its garunteed.

That said, he's my secondary character :)

Played this game last weekend.

I'm amazed how close to the original it is...almost the same combinations to pull of moves, same animations, etc. Once I get my hands on a console I'll pick it up.

Initially i thought that the relative simplicity of the older games and their sway over the design of this game would slightly hinder the game, but as I've said before, its a rather perfect balance of the simple style that made the old street fighter games so popular, and some of the more complex parts of modern fighting games.  Its rather incredible how clearly one can gauge one's skill - the game can be played casually, and super technically.  Perhaps next time i visit I'll lug my playstation up  Cool Spot

I'll probably be playing a little bit tonight between 8 and 9:30, but I'm going out drinking with some coworkers so I'll not be on later.

That's around the time I get home (like now, I just got home: 8:20). Also my Dad wants to watch some Battlestar Galatica and who am I to refuse?

I'll probably be on much later tonight.

It was inevitable that they'd make at least an expansion of Street Fighter IV, and here it is, in the form of Super Street Fighter 4!

it is rumored that in this new version each character will have two different ultras, the focused attack system is changed, and internet multiplayer options will be significantly improved. Furthermore, there are to be at least 8 new characters, of the Rumored characters, four have been confirmed so far:

T-Hawk
DeeJay
Dudley from Third Strike
Juri (completely new)

Also rumored to be in the new game, but not confirmed:
Ibuki from Third Strike
Makoto from Third Strike

Guy from Final Fight
Cody from Final Fight / Alpha 3
Karin from Alpha 3

Hakan - Completely new

I can't remember the other rumored characters, but there are a couple more.

Juri Vs. T-Hawk video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JBLYxnKuvs
Announcement/Lineup Video Containing DeeJay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jyK3j0rqAk

I've also heard that Ryu and Sagat are no longer to be completely broken, and Cammy and Sakura are actually playable.  I've also heard that Bison is going to be high tier, which makes me happy.  I'm thrilled though because I liked DeeJay a lot and was bummed he wasn't in IV. I also like Dudley a lot from SF Third Strike, and will be very happy to play him! I'm also hoping that Makoto will also be carried over.  This'll be great because I've been playing nothing but Bison since the release of 4, and now I'll be able to have a second and a third character, which will make office gameplay a lot more fun and interesting.

Projected to be released next Spring sometime

I've heard rumors that there are 10 new characters.

I really want this to just be a downloadable rather than a brand new disc. I don't want two goddamn Street Fighter Blu Rays.

Shame. Its definitely going to be a separate CD, however, it won't be full price

All 9 (10 really) new characters revealed for Super Street Fighter 4

Click here to go to youtube

I cannot wait to play the everliving shit out of Dudley and Makoto, even if they screwed up Dudley's voice

the 10th new character is rumored (most likely) supposed to be 'Hakan' -- an arab grappler

the List:

Ibuki - third strike
Dudley - third strike
Makoto - third strike
Guy - Alpha 3
Cody - Alpha 3
Adon - Alpha 3
DeeJay -  Super 2
T-Hawk - Super 2
Juri - New
(Hakan) - New
