Dan helped me out last time I had a problem like this. But this time the problem seems more serious. I was downloading something last night and so I left my Macbook on as people do. I was woken up when it turn its screen on again (the screen was the only light in my room). So when I went over to take a look at it, the computer told me that the family's network had crapped out, as it often does. I tried to reconnect and was informed that I could not (this often happens in a very specific manner to our router and I believe is only incidental to the failure of my computer).

In order to let my computer rest, I quit out of the programs that were running (word, safari, demonoid) and shut the laptop down, leaving it on AC power the rest of the night. Then, when I woke up three hours later I went to turn it on and nothing happened. Pressing the power button produces no effect, no noise. I have pressed the button several times and it has had absolutely no noticeable result. The computer appears to be completely dead. The bottom is slightly warm to the touch. Is there any chance that something could have been too hot/melted?

I've been trying to find a solution online, but the closest thing I can find seems to be resetting the SMU and I don't know if that would fix this problem.

Ah, never mind...It seems to be working now. Best guess: battery loose?
