Scanner Problem

My scanner is not working and I'm having a bit of a freak out. Anyone know anything about scanners? The light from the inside is no longer on. Can scanner bulbs go out? I've had this sucker for about five years.

From what I can assume, there are a lot of loving parts in a scanner. Printers have a lot of moving parts and they always break. So expect the worse.
On that note, look into replacing the bulb with your model/make. This would be inexpensive and easy probably!
