First things first, I have a PC not a Mac, if that info helps.

I plugged my 80g iPod into my computer last night and it said that my iPod was corrupted and I should restore it to the factory setting. I did so, but it still says the same thing... only now my iPod is empty of all my music, TV shows, and movies and podcasts. I would love to reload it but I can't, because as I said it still tells me my iPod is corrupted and I should "restore it to its factory setting" or somesuch thing.

Can anybody help me?

If you're iPod is within warranty do this:

Go here: http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
Make an appointment at the KOP Apple store.
They will give you a new iPod.
Restore the iPod with your iTunes library.

I think going to tech support locations with backup makes sense. Support staff like to be arrogant pricks and you want someone at your back if a fight breaks out near the LCD's

I went because I advised Seth on the MacBook purchase and I felt bad about a drive failure so soon after getting it. Funny story, my laptop drive just died recently.  smith

Don't plug it in any more. The drive is bad. Windows will freak out when it tries to read from it.

Forgive my technical ignorance; I just don't know much about computers.
So it IS the iPod and not the computer?

With 95% certainity yes.

There is a small small chance the driver software's the problem, but shit like that just really doesn't happen anymore.

So I've gotten a replacement from the Apple store, but fuck if the little scrolling wheel doesn't sense as well as my last one. It sticks sometimes. Do you think I should get ANOTHER replacement? Or should I just let this go?

It's really up to you and if you think it's an actual defect. If you think it's fine than it isn't worth the trip.
