On Monday I took my first stab at making meatballs, specifically, those of the Swedish variety. I had hoped they would have come out with Viking horns, dashing Scandinavian beauty, and an efficient system of social programs. Alas, they had none of the above, but they were pretty damn good. Pretty easy too. The most complicated part involved adding flour to the drippings in the frying pan to thicken up the sauce, and even that wasn't too difficult. The recipe I used called for light cream, which I didn't have, so I used whole milk. The result was a sauce with a bit too much of a powdery texture amid the liquid, but meh, ya live and learn. I served them with brown rice, the sauce in which they were cooked, and in lieu of lingon berries (you usually serve these with Swedish meatballs; again, I didn't have any around), I used chunks of blackberry jam. We also drank Chaddsford Winery Apple Spice Wine that we mulled with cinnamon sticks. Here it is, and yes, I take pics of everything I cook:

I made the most delicious pork chops tonight for din-dins.
I just broiled them, but I made a peach-preserve/mustard glaze for them that was divine. Served with roasted green beans and some crescent rolls (word up pillsbury). I'd give the whole meal an A-, but in the summer, on the grill, these pork chops would be a definite A+. recipe for the glaze: 1/3 cup peach or apricot preserves 1 TBSP Honey 1 TBSP Brown or Dijon Mustard 1 tsp dry mustard 1 tsp or 1 clove Garlic, minced 1/2 to full tsp cinnamon salt and pepper to taste (about 1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp each)

Try not making every picture such a super duper close up. I understand you want to show the details of the food, but they're kind of hard to look at when everything is RIGHT THERE TAKING UP THE WHOLE SPACE. The artichoke picture is the best, I think.

Oh yes let's all be totally impressed that Mits took greek yogurt, sour cream, dill, cucumber and garlic and combined it in a dish. Sorry Mits, not that your tzatziki isn't awesome, just you know, these guys are morons.

I like the direction this picture has taken (ie. Dave's signature). I tilted my comp's screen so I didn't have to hold the container and decided to jump into the pic at the last second. I am a artistic genius
