Well maybe we are not all millionaires who can afford to spend our money DVD's and children's toys like you, Nick, no matter how much we would like. If you can go out to a bar to pay high prices to drink, you should have no problem walking to a store and buying a movie.

Well maybe we are not all millionaires who can afford to spend our money DVD's and children's toys like you, Nick, no matter how much we would like. If you can go out to a bar to pay high prices to drink, you should have no problem walking to a store and buying a movie. A) I don't go to bars where I have to pay high prices. If a place charges more than $3 a beer (unless it is very good imported beer from Germany/Belgium/the UK) then I do not drink there regularly. B) I can afford to do one or the other, and since I am not 12 and like having a social life that exists outside my living room, I chose to drink. Which I do about once a week, since more than anything I like having money to pay my numerous bills and living expenses. C) I was only kidding around with Nick (as I'm sure he knows) and your snide little remarks and judgements about my lifestyle choices are both unwarranted and unwelcome, Bryce. I've been courteous to you, and more importantly, wasn't even referring to you, so you can sir, with all due respect, go fuck yourself.

- How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back - Strictly for the song at the end. And all the references to Terry Gilliam's Brazil.

Futurama has some amazing songs. I used to sing the Robot Devil's song from the episode where Bender goes to robot hell in the shower.

In retrospect I probably should have written "My thoughts are" before the aforementioned sentence, as thats the way I tend to judge wether entertainment is worth it - for the 10 bucks it costs nowadays to go to the movie theatres, I could just as easily get wasted for an entire night and have a great time for several hours, instead of just like 2. However, a DVD can be watched multiple times, which greatly extends its price-to-entertainment ratio. Additionally, for a movie from a series I dearly love, and love to support, I'd say the 7.65 or so I can get the movie for on amazon.com is totally worth it, when compared to a night of drinking.
I do realize that the remark could be seen as callous, offensive and (to use your word) snide, this wasn't my intention, and I'm sorry. =/

Apology accepted and returned, sir. No hard feelings?
Otherwise...I think someone mentioned having seen the second one? Was it any good? Like I said they have it available to rent at my local blockbluster so I'm thinking of checking it out.

I thought it was alot closer to the humour of the series than Benders Big Score, but story-wise it's a little haphazard.
Really though, it's Futurama, of course you should see it.

It's got some funny moments. But like I said, the second movie, which is called The Beast With A Billion Backs, is not as good as Bender's Big Score. But, you know, it's Futurama so it is worth a viewing. It is also a direct continuation of the end of Bender's Big Score, which is pretty cool.

It also comes with all the movies in the X-Box game edited together like a full episode, which I thought was pretty great. However I think everyone's hit the nail on the head, it was an overlong episode that had some good moments, some great moments, and some uncomfortable moments.

I'm a little confused as to why you felt the need to apologize, as the err was mine, and your reaction was understandable. Thanks, and no hard feelings felt! :) Back on topic Today at work I brought my Futurama sets and watched all the episodes mentioned in this thread and I can't disagree with anyone's choices. God I love this series, I've seen each episode at least 3 or 4 times and it still cracks me up.

Oh that is fucking sweet. FYI that's the Futurama crew as the characters from B.P.R.D. which is a very well-done spin-off comic series from Hellboy. And when I say well-done, I mean fucking awesome.
Edit: also, Zoidberg as Lobster Johnson is hilarious

zombie thread (kinda)
I was sittin on the can the other day, thinkin' about Futurama, and it occurred to me that I totally forgot to mention one of my all time favourite episodes in this thread! The Beck episode! I always thought that was one of the funniest episodes, and I love the way Beck just relentlessly makes fun of himself. Perfect Futurama fluff, and yet just the right amount of heartwarming. GOD I love that show.

I want a Futurama episode that's just all the greatest guest stars dicking around for 30 to 90 minutes. Al Gore + Stephen Hawking + Gary Gygax (RIP :( ) was fucking gold, so I want more like that
