5. The one where Fry gets put into the robot insane asylum. Futurama is notorious for taking otherwise okay jokes and taking them to extreme levels of hilarity - in my mind, Fry's time at the asylum is the epitome of this feat - just when you think it can't possibly get any worse, it blows you out of the water.
4. The one where Nixon is elected president - the character of Nixon that they built is nothing short of genius. Nearly every one of his lines is a great joke unto itself. And in my opinion, this one boasts the best ending of any episode.
3. The last one - the combination of some of my favorite elements of the series; the holophoner, the Robot Devil, Fry and Leela's relationship, a TERRIFIC musical number, and Bender's definition of irony. And as a side note, this episode had probably my favorite joke of any series ever - when Fry agreed to change hands with any robot in existence I was CONVINCED beyond a shadow of a doubt it would be Bender. When he wheel slowly crept past his name and onto the Robot Devil's I felt like Matt Groening and personally come into my house and pulled the chair out from underneath me.
2. The Roswell one - obvious pick.
1. The one where you find out that Nibbler was behind sending Fry into the future so he could help defeat the brains. The delivery of the line "but it was my life" was probably my favorite moment of the series. You spend the whole series looking at Fry as a hilarious slothenly caricature who you really can't take seriously, except perhaps in his occasional moments of sincerity towards Leela. But at the moment of the "my life" line he suddenly becomes very VERY human. and for a brief moment you actualy see him as a poor guy who had to sacrifice everything he knew to save the universe. Also in my mind the Brain-Nibblonian war is sort of the main arch of the show, and I really hope one of the movies goes into it some more.

No real order:

- Roswell that End Well - I love the Professor and his mixed up ideas of what the past was like. Fry's fake grandfather is also just a fun character. It's weird hearing "You ever think we go out with girls just cause you're suposta'?" come from a very 1950's styled voice.

- Where No Fan Has Gone Before - I don't even really LIKE Star Trek but I can still pick up on the nuances of all the in-jokes with this episode. Really well written and self mocking.

- Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love? - This is the first episode that really sold Zoidburg as the comedic goldmine he is.

- How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back - Strictly for the song at the end.

- Time Keeps on Slippin' - Futurama is first and foremost a comedy show, but all the writers are big sci-fi fans with fancy doctorates in various sciences. So it's always fun to be told a really good sci-fi story by them. Throw in some Harlem Globetrotters and Fry doing something really sweet for Leela that goes unnoticed and this is just a really satisfying episode.

Wasn't gonna do this thread because I thought it was kinda lame (sorry Chris) but Ethan's post reminded me how much I love this goddamned show so here I go. No order, as per usual.

. The Series Finale - It was such a lovely ending and I felt like it did an excellent job of tying up everything that needed to be tied up, without making it feel too final. Plus I loved Fry and Leela episodes and that one was obviously the epitome of all Fry and Leela episodes.
. Jurassic Bark - Saddest episode of anything ever. I significantly tear up every time I see this one. Heart breaking and Futurama at its best.
. The one where Bender is God - This episode changed my life when I saw it for the first time. It was sheer brilliance, and my favourite portrayal/interpretation of God or a God-like-being from anything ever.
. The Nixon Episode - Nixon might be my favourite character from Futurama, main cast members excluded of course. He's one of the funniest parts of the show and its such a credit to the minds of the writers and creators...I mean, Nixon?? Who'da thunk it?
. Maybe the Parasite one. It's tough for me to say, as the first three I listed are really the ones that stick out in my mind as my absolute favourites. All the others I kind of just view as EQUALLY great. But the I'm a total sucker for Fry and Leela romance, as well as the more bittersweet episodes, since I feel like that blend of romance, comedy, and sincerity is something Futurama pretty much mastered over its short-lived run, and the Parasite episode really utilizes all of those aspects.

3. The episode with the seven-leafed clover
5. The deadly, deadly space bees episode

Oh man oh man I totally forgot about those, Seth. Yeah add those to my list, too. Definitely.

Ohh...I forgot about the one where Bender is God. That should be on my list as well. That episode somehow seems to explain God in some very mysterious yet simple terms, while miniature aliens blast nuclear missiles off of Bender's ass. The entirety of that episode is well-written, touching and (in my opinion) motivational.

Likewise, I forgot about the episode where Bender is turned into a werecar. The Jokes are top-notch and the one-liners, sight gags, references and build-ups all pay off very well. Another reason why Futurama is such an excellent, well-thought-out show.

Oh and the Titanic episode is pretty good too.

My favorite part about the god episode was when "God" hears Fry's broadcast. It's a really well delivered "Uh?" by Billy West playing God.

Also, Benders Big Score kind of removes some of the emotional weight behind Luck of the Fryrish and Jurassic Bark.

Yeah, I like the movie but it really screws around with some of the stuff they did in some of their more emotional episodes

On the plus side Beast with a Billion Backs is more like a straight up super long episode than movie.

Yeah, but I was vaguely disappointed with Beast With A Billion Backs. I don't know exactly why...Maybe I thought the writing wasn't as tight or the whole "we're going to heaven" thing was weird.

Yeah... it was definitely... uncomfortable at times. What with our entire existence being raped by a monster.

I think of it now like "Beast" was the funnier one while "Big Score" is the more emotional, rewarding one.

The next one just looks ridiculous though.

"Bender's Game" I think. It's one big Fantasy/Dungeons and Dragons/LOTR parody.

A head in the poles is the name of this one. Another favorite of mine. A list of 5 is really not enough for the brilliance that is futurama ...

"AOh, no?  Well, listen here, missy.  Computers may be twice as fast as they were in 1973, but your average voter is as drunk and stupid as ever.  The only one who's changed is me.  I've become bitter -- and let's face it, crazy -- over the years, and once I'm swept into office I'll sell our children's organs and I'll go into people's houses at night and wreck up the place." aruuuuuuuuu!!!"

Thank goodness for Scooty Puff Sr.!

GRAW!

- How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back - Strictly for the song at the end.
"I am bender please insert girder"   in the middle of that song makes me laugh, every time

Also i've never seen "Bender's game"  ... is that shot from the movie?? I've never seen that before, and I'm pretty sure I've watched every episode :/

I didn't even know they had come out with the second movie until I saw it available to rent in my local Blockbluster (yeah I still rent my movies from an actual store like a plebian, what of it???). To me, that says that SOMEBODY here (NICK ELMER) has not been doing their job!

Well maybe we are not all millionaires who can afford to spend our money DVD's and children's toys like you, Nick, no matter how much we would like.  Colbert
