I love it, although I'm a little dissapointed it doesn't pick up after the last episode which I always assumed it would.

First of all let me just say: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Second of all, let me say things in a somewhat coherent and not stupid fangirl manner.  I have been absolutely in love with the X-Files for most of my semi-young-adult life.  Three of the most important relationships in my life have been forged around or because of this show.  I'm not even kidding, just ask Ethan what the first thing we ever said to each other was about, or the first thing I ever said to my best friends Cassie and Rachael.

I admit, I'm guilty of what the article quotes Duchovny saying about fans saying that the show "lost it," but in mine and every other fan's defense, that's completely and utterly true.  The show was completely downhill from the 7th season on, to the point that I didn't even watch the 8th and 9th seasons with any kind of frequency.  I didn't care about Reyes and Dogget or Scully's goddamned baby or any of that crap.  I wanted aliens, monsters, psycics and goddamned Mulder and Scully solving scary paranormal mysteries.  Which is why I'm so excited about the new movie, because that's exactly what its going to be.  I don't want a continuation of a plot that was so blaringly convoluted and half-assed.   The best episodes were always the stand-alone episodes, all of my favourites are stand-alones, and I can't wait to see one giant, two hour long stand-alone X-File extravaganza on the big screen.
