black dice will be in philadelphia on november 21st, this show will probably be very good. it is cheap and at a smallish venue.
the dirty projectors will be at johnny brenda's again on december 7th. i have heard wonderful things about them playing live from fairly critical people who don't usually like anything, so i might have to go to this. also it is 21 +  Cool
in closing the fiery furnaces will be at the unitarian church on december 9th. for some reason this band + this venue makes perfect sense to me. the show will probably be really fun.

That seems to be true for a lot of bands that play at First Unitarian. I need to go see a concert there when I'm home. I've heard it's a pretty cool venue.

yeah it's fun there and usually around ten bucks to get in. the sound quality isn't the best of the best in philadelphia but it is small and i had a great time there when i saw islands + why? cause the crowd was super-dancey.
in short it doesn't take itself super-super seriously! which i'm beginning to think is the best kind of spot to see an indie band nowadays...
