I just saw Apocalypse Now today. It was incredible. You'd probably hate it, so rent Better Off Dead.

You think Alien Vs Predator was a decent/watchable movie? Hell if I take your rental advice.

You can never go wrong with the top three movies of all time:

The Shawshank Redemption
The Usual Suspects
The Boondock Saints (yes, Dave, I saw it).

Boondock Saints would've been a lot better if the writer/director weren't the most despicable piece of gutter trash on the planet. Don't get me wrong, I still love it. I just hate the director, and now that I know so much about him and watch it, he's retarded nature shines through all throughout. Watch it with commentary sometime or watch the documentary Overnight if you care. Like I said, I still love it, I just don't think it deserves that much credit.

The same thing sort of happened when I watched Freddy vs. Jason. The whole time I was convinced it was a brilliant tribute to the horror genre. Then I turned the commentary on. For the love of God, never fucking do that.

That movie was a pile of a mix of cat fights and bad acting. Total wet ass.

That's part of the fucking appeal.  Do you really think anyone goes to that movie to see GOOD acting?  It's full of guns and alien creatures ripping each other apart.  nuff said.

Couldn't have said it better.

Not every movie is going to be Amistad. That doesn't mean that it can't be entertaining.

I guess it drives me crazy when the story is absolutely brainless, Especially when you're a fan of the origionals...

Yeah, the story behind Aliens was an absolute roller coaster of character development and plot twists akin to shakesperian tragedies and greek comedies - why the story of Ripley and the Alien on her ship that killed her crew before she sucked it into space is a testament to complex story lines and would be on par with Quentin Terentino and David Lynch combining efforts to remake momento.
