Well, my two trial ink cartridges are almost dead (thanks, rasterbation), so I need to order new cartridges. I have a Dell 720 Photo printer, but I would rather not pay Dell's steep prices for ink cartridges. I've scanned newegg.com and found cheaper ink cartridges, but my question is: can any brand of ink cartridges be used with my printer?

They have to fit, that's about it. I'm sure there's a website that lists alternative ink sources that can get you something cheaper but I don't know about it off the top of my head.

eBay it. Just type in the printer model and "cartidges." Even if they don't work, you'll spend like $5-$10 tops.

I bragged about getting a good deal on ink cartridges on ebay, but they turned out to be terrible. I had huge issues with horizontal banding and they left black splotches everywhere. So, I ended up just sucking it up and buying Epson brand cartridges. They're freaking expensive, but at least you know they'll work. But, I have also heard some people rave about non-name brand cartridges. I'd say it's worth a shot. If they end up sucking, you'll have wasted less than ten dollars, probably.
