Top five concert dvds anyone? These are rarer than you might think. There have been tons of good concerts filmed very poorly. Cream's farewell concert in 69 comes to mind.

5. Stop Making Sense - Talking Heads
4. Rockpalast - Wishbone Ash
3. Live at Montreux - Rory Gallagher
2. Live at Montreux - Stevie Ray Vaughn
1. The Kids Are Alright - The Who

The music for pompei is wonderful, i especially enjoy the version of One of These Days. But jesus christ, the guy who filmed that shit went completely nuts, especially during his "directors cut".

As far as documenting a concert, yeah. But I liked the look of it, and the filming was interesting, if not helpful.

It is filmed interestingly, but from a guitar players point of view I like being able to see what theyre doing to create their sounds and such, and what theyre hands are doing.

I can not even condone it being "interesting" when there is fucking 10 minute splices of shitty space cgi and, as eamonn pointed out, during amazing guitar solors we focus on Nick Mason.

I still watch the shit out of it, but jesus does it hurt.

There is some pretty neat just band footage and interviews though. I love watching roger waters and gilmour slurp oysters while Nick Mason orders a very specific slice of pie.
