I went to see a band in New York. The lead singer got on the microphone, and he said "How many of you people feel like human beings tonight?" Then he said "How many of you feel like animals?" And everyone cheered after the animals part. But the thing is, I cheered after the human being part because I did not know that there was a second part to the question.

Standup comedy has lost a pioneer.

A lot of people (myself included) think this is an elaborate prank. The first two sources to report it were comedy central and Howard Stern (who had hedburg on his show only last week).

I really really hope I'm right.

I hope to god that's all this is.  I would be so unbelievably incredibly sad if Mitch Hedberg were dead.  He's one of the true geniuses of comedy, and it would be very sad if he died before he was able to recieve the recognition he truly deserves.  Also, it would really suck if I never got to see him live.

"This product that was on TV was available for four easy payments of $19.95. I would like a product that was available for three easy payments and one complicated payment. We can't tell you which payment it is, but one of these payments is going to hard."

He was a hilarious man. I saw Lewis Black and Dave Attell at the Tower, not knowing that Mitch would be the special guest, and he was by far the funniest. I'm just glad I got a chance to see him live. Poor guy.

"I like going to clubs because at the clubs everyone looks really cool under the black light.   Except for me.   Because I was under the impression that the mustard stain had come out."

When I found Mitch I tried my hardest to quote his material to other people so they could grasp how awesome he was.   Unfortunately only Mitch himself has the perfect, confused deliever to pull it off.

I wish it was a prank, but it's not JUST howard stern and Comedy Central that is reporting his death. Plus it just isn't Mitch's style.
