I saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at the American Music Theater in Lancaster tonight. I sat in the front row. I took pictures (the low quality is because I wasn't allowed to use flash. No flash = long exposure times. Long exposure times = blur). I thought you might be interested.

Mr. Fleck:

The infamous Victor Lamonte Wooten:

The crazy bastard Futureman, with his Synthaxe Drumitar:

And again with some crazy piano/drum creation:

A nice group shot:

Another:

Also, I found proof that Long John Silver's actually does exist:

Actually, Long John Silver's is still a prominent chain in the South! English 101

Also, that's awesome that you got to see Bella Fleck and take some badass pictures.

They didn't, which is a shame, because that's a damn fine song.

I'm really bad with names of songs (especially instrumental tunes), so I can't name too many of the tunes they played. I think they did "Bigfoot," "Who's got three," "Rococo," and "Cheeseballs in Cowtown." I can't remember any others. And those might not even be right...

Also, they did a really cool rendition of "Come Together," by The Beatles.

They also did a really "heavy" (I put heavy in quotes because it's the Flecktones we're talking about) blues-y tune in which Bela busted out his Rickenbacker electric banjo (who knew Rickenbacker made banjos?) and played it very much like a guitar. It made some pretty sweet sounds.

I highly recommend seeing them whenever they come around again.

Tour documentary quality pictures, how the hell did you get those?

Also, Long John Silvers is fairly common here, I know where two are. It's Roy Rogers that doesn't exist

Have you got a problem with that?

I used my Canon S1 IS. It has a nifty 10x optical zoom. The investment is finally paying off, it seems...

But, sitting in the front row helped a lot, too.

To be fair, Evan, you live in South Jersey.  South Jersey thinks its the South, so they have some Southern things.  I think I've seen maybe one LJS westward of the Deleware River.

Yeah, fany camera's and being up real close help a lot when getting good shots.  I wish I'd had a better camera when I saw Carly Simon.  I still managed to come away with some pretty decent shots (after some careful cleaning up in good ole 'shop) but I had to scrap the majority of them.  It would have been nice to have something better than a Canon Powershot A10.
