...about game controllers for computers. I'm looking for a decent controller so that I might play my SNES emulator, without using the keyboard. I was thinking something along the lines of the old Gravis GamePad, only not so outdated. Can you recommend any? Preferably USB.

Thanks for your time.

PS2/USB Adapter

If you've got PS or PS2 controllers around I wholeheartedly recommend this, the Dual Shock controller is easily the best gamepad I've ever used, and it's got enough buttons for every emulated system short of the Neo Geo fighter set. The analog sticks let you have a good experience with emulated 64 games too.

The only shortcoming is that they do not work all that well with flying games intended for a real joystick, a single mission in TIE Fighter using one of those thumbsticks and my hands were screaming at me.

Fuckin' A!! That's awesome! Thanks so much, Rifty! I also see they sell PS2 controllers for only $16...I'll have to make liberal use of this website.

It'll also work with any controller that has a PS connector, with a DDR mat for example, or the Guitar Hero guitar, whose homebrew song scene is beginning to show up

I am definitely going to order the PS2/USB adapter, but I have one last question. Is the website legit? I don't want to have to pay $25 to use DHL or UPS, and it says you can't track packages with the basic global shipping.

Yeah it's legit, it's the biggest gaming importer around. I tried hitting up a few of my other known sites to find one of these but they were no go. If shipping's really a problem I'll see if I can find another source

Nah, shipping isn't a problem. In fact, I just placed my order for the adapter and another PS2 controller (Lik-Sang's $16 beats any American site's $24 for a controller). Thanks again for the suggestion, Rifty. I'll probably continue using the site.
