Yeah, this is purely subjective... or is that objective... I'm too tired to remember right now.

5. Richard Nixon (yeah yeah yeah, I know. Too bad schools don't teach anything outside of Watergate else people would know the man was truly a political genius)
4. FDR ('nuff said, really)
3. Harry Truman (again, 'nuff said)
2. Teddy Roosevelt (We need another president who could kick somebodies ass like TR could)
1. Abraham Lincoln (this may seem like an obvious freakin' answer but trust me, this isn't some random name I'm throwin' up here. This man had MAD political skills and knew how to turn enemies into allies better than any other president... and that is just for starters... I could really go on and on)

I've been a fan of FDR for a long time, but I've been having a lot of doubts lately. He abused his power W-style LYKE WHOA! But, is abusing power okay when good things come of it? Who knows? On with the list...

I don't know if I want to put this in a specific order. Some of the things these presidents did were huge accomplishments, and it's difficult to say which was more important in American History. So, I think I'll say "no order."

1. Abraham Lincoln - I'm sure you all know the reasons.
2. Thomas Jefferson - Louisiana purchase, one of the biggest proponents of the separation of church and state (he actually coined the phrase "high wall of separation"), fan of small government
3. Teddy Roosevelt - Panama canal, nat'l parks, fought against monopolies
4. James Monroe - Monroe doctrine! WOO!
5. Harry Truman - I think dropping the nukes was the best thing he could have done. The use of nukes deterred later use, so it was damn good that we were the first to drop one. He made the extremely difficult decision, and for that, he edges out FDR for the fifth spot. Started the strategy of containment in dealing w/ the Soviet Union.

There was once a man who challenged Lincoln to a duel. As the challenged, Lincoln got to pick the location of the duel and the weapon used. He chose sledgehammers.

The guy didn't show up.
