How do you say “good day” in Swedish? “Goddag.”
How do you say “a great band” in Swedish? “Dungen.”
I was introduced to Dungen about two years ago when a friend told me about their show that he had seen at his college. Given Sweden’s tendency to produce death metal bands, I first thought Dungen was a metal band. As it turns out, Dungen is just about the best combination of folk, classic rock, and indie I’ve ever encountered.
This is a song from their second album, Ta Det Lugnt. This song showcases the amazing musical talent of Gustav Ejstes, the band’s lead singer who performs most of the instruments on their studio recordings. Sure, I have no idea what Gustav is saying, but I think his vocal ability speaks more than any translation could.
